Have you already decorated your Halloween tree?
Reminds me of this conversation:
Me: I wanted to go, had everything booked, flights, hotel, but then a stupid accident forced me to stay in Taiwan. Long story. No, but I'd really like to go.
Maybe he's right.
This blog was mentioned in the latest c't magazine. Though it may have peaked some time ago, it's still funny and intriguing to see Germany through the eyes of an American. I learned a lot about my culture and realized that I have to worked harder to become a better German. No wonder some acquaintances and business partners wouldn't believe I'm from Germany ("You're what? Vegetarian? And did you just say you 'don't exactly like beer'?!").
So let's get serious. Here's how a good almost-award-winning blog should look like (it's in German, of course):
Facts about the US, presented in a friendly ("aber bestimmt") way. If the author doesn't have a German passport already, I'm sure they'll give him one after looking at the blog's title.
I wonder if I should start a blog about "Luxembourg, as seen though the eyes of a German who doesn't think he's a typical German, which BTW is typically German". Nah, it'll probably be boring because the cultures are so similar*. Either that or I'll end up insulting everyone, which of course is not a good idea in a country where everyone knows everyone else.
*I'm kidding! Please don't deport me. Merci villmols!

The ideas could use some illustrations, but what do you expect with a name like that.

Update 14:36: According to this article on wort.lu (in German), a new "internal (read: non-public)" job portal is being planned for the financial sector. I guess less transparency is what we need.
